Happer Startups decide to include the initiatives they founded within the wehappers program in order to:

Let's take a fictitious example.
Kim D. heads NAMASTE, a startup developing a video platform offering online courses from coaches situated in developing countries to clients in wealthier nations. NAMASTE's founder needs $50,000 investment in development to get its tech platform to the point where it can register its first 100 yoga and culinary coaches in Myanmar and Cambodia.
Kim D. contacts wehappers to enter the wehappers program.
The Happer Scientists evaluate NAMASTE’s targets and timeline for the generation of Happiness Impact Tokens (HITs), to see if NAMASTE qualifies for the program.

The Happer Scientists measure the global impact of the NAMASTE initiative to 1,500 HXP in the first year and 2,500 HITs in the second year, equivalent to a 40% increase in living standards for 100 families in these two disadvantaged Southeast Asian countries.
Given these target number the wehappers board decides to support NAMASTE initiative by funding the development effort through Tech Stars. In return it takes participation in NAMASTE "HITs capital" proportionally to its contribution to the overall effort.
When NAMASTE launches its platform , the Happer Scientists will measure over time the actual HITs generated by NAMASTE over time measuring the impact/success level of the initiative.
Knowing the amount of HITs generated NAMASTE is able to advertise the true impact of their platform and grow their community of coaches and users.
The wehappers program is also credited its share of HITs.
Earned HITs are then distributed among the Happers who participated to the initiative proportionally to their contribution.
